“Celebrating 21 years in 2012”

UP THE CREEK

"Polocrosse started in Australia in 1938 and in Queensland in 1957. This is one of only three sports that Australia can truly claim as it's own; the others being Australian Rules Football and campdrafting."

Our club provides members with an exciting, fast paced, fun sport available to people of all ages, with a strong focus on families. We have playing members as young as 9 and as mature as 55 plus. Polocrosse is unique because it is skills based, so teams may be composed of men and women of any age.

In 1991 Alligator Creek boasted a core group of dynamic players with a strong local following, the club was established to house this group and offer an accessible club to the local community. To date our club has produced 9 state representatives, including 4 juniors and more than 20 Zone Representatives.

Alligator Creek is part of the Far North Queensland Zone which comprises of clubs from Cairns, Gordonvale, Mt Garnett, Townsville and Bowen. Each club holds an annual tournament to which all teams travel to compete. We also endeavour to foster reciprocal support of neighbouring zone Capricornia with Calliope and Nebo St Lawrence and also the Central West zone with Muttaburra.

Our home grounds are used extensively throughout the year. The club holds many sporting “get together’s” which include an annual “come and try” day and practice days during the season, commencing from March to September.

Irrespective of the distances the clubs travel, this dedication and enthusiasm for the sport of Polocrosse never wanes. Alligator Creek prides it’s self on it’s commitment to the game in our on-field performance. This is demonstrated by years of fundraising, sommunity support and the tireless effort from members to ensur the fun, competiive and safe environment.
